Have you ever bitten into a truly perfect tomato, still warm from the sun, and felt that spark of pure, unadulterated joy? Oh, I know I have!
Or perhaps you've savoured a meal where every single ingredient just sang, leaving you with a profound sense of satisfaction? Well, what if I told you that this incredible connection, this explosion of flavour and passion, isn't just a fantasy?
It's achievable not only in your kitchen but, croyez-moi (believe me!), it often starts right in your backyard as it did for me. And at one stage of my life I had a tiny potager… pots in a space less than 1 m2! And from that tiny space, I delighted in 2m + high tomato vines bearing superb tomatoes (two types), all sorts of delicious herbs, cayenne chilli peppers, snow peas, exotic, climbing spinach, French beans, heritage italian beans, cos lettuce, and even nastursiums that fought me daily as ithey constantly blocked the kitchen door and tried to overtake the kitchen! I’ve been feeding my family and neighbours with enormous delight… all from my tiny potager.
In France, there’s a beautiful, unbreakable bond between the earth beneath our feet and the deliciousness on our plates. It’s a connection that goes far beyond simply "eating healthy." It's about pure, unadulterated joy. And that, to me, is the real magic.
